Principal Matt Mederios

Mederios comes to Dalton from Lee County Public Schools in Fort Myers, Florida, where he served as principal at Varsity Lakes Middle School. Previously he served as a high school principal in the Lee County School District for five years and then served as a principal-on-assignment for academic services. He has 21 years of experience in education.

Mederios holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed the provisional certification program in physical education and health from the State University of New York at Cortland. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Educational Learnership and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Assistant Principal Josh Deslattes

Josh Deslattes is a Dalton native and a 2004 graduate of Dalton High School. Deslattes's wife, Asia, who is also a Dalton High graduate, currently works as a Nurse Practitioner in Dalton. He also has two young children; his daughter, Blake, who will enter pre-school at Westwood this year, and son, Miles, who is still in daycare.

Deslattes has 12 yeares of experience in education, all of which were in Whitfield County Schools. Most recently, he was at Coahulla Creek High School where he served as AP/Gifted coordinator, taught math, and spent 5 years as head cross country coach. Deslattes holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia, as well as a Masters degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Georgia State University.
