Dalton, GA – One of the Dalton Public Schools C3 First Lego League teams achieved an impressive milestone by securing the Second Place Trophy for Robot Performance at the Tennessee Valley Robotics Regional Championship held at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) on Saturday, February 8.

The team consists of talented students from four Dalton Public Schools elementary campuses:

  • Jonathan Landeros (Blue Ridge)

  • Bryan Arellano (Roan School)

  • Oliver Gonzalez (Blue Ridge)

  • Jesus Hernandez (Roan School)

  • Jayden Beltran (City Park)

  • Andy Posada (Park Creek)

The path to the championship began in January when C3’s Catabot 1 and Catabot 2 teams competed at a regional qualifier in Cartersville, Georgia. Both teams delivered strong performances, with Catabot 1 finishing in the tournament’s top ten, earning their advancement to the Tennessee Valley Regional Championship at UTC.

The First Lego League competition challenges students to apply STEM principles, problem-solving skills, and teamwork in designing and programming autonomous robots to complete designated tasks. The friendly competition requires competitors to use their dedication, creativity, and technical expertise in robotics and engineering.

Dalton Public Schools is proud of these students and looks forward to seeing what they accomplish next in the world of robotics.
