Dalton, GA β Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that all ten of its schools have been awarded the 2024-2025 Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS). This recognition is awarded to schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to emergency preparedness through comprehensive planning and risk mitigation efforts.
Only 136 schools across the state received this designation, highlighting the extensive efforts and commitment of Dalton Public Schools to maintaining a safe and prepared learning environment.
"Ensuring a safe learning environment is our top priority, and this recognition highlights the commitment of our administrators, staff, and students to school safety," said Dr. Steven Craft, Superintendent of Dalton Public Schools. "I also want to recognize our Director of Safety and Transportation, Mr. Jeff Wells, for his leadership and dedication to implementing safety measures that help protect our students and staff each day. His work has been instrumental in achieving this recognition."
Through ongoing training, detailed emergency response planning, and collaboration with local emergency management agencies, Dalton Public Schools continues to set a high standard for school safety.
