Leslie Felix Named Dalton High School 2025–2026 Classified Staff Member of the Year

Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that Leslie Felix has been named Dalton High School's 2025–2026 Classified Staff Member of the Year.

Felix has worked in the front office at Dalton High School since August 2020, serving as one of the first points of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors.

Felix said the role has strengthened her commitment to creating a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through the school's doors.

"As one of the first people students, parents, and visitors see when they enter the school, I strive to make every interaction positive and helpful. I greet everyone with kindness, listen carefully to their needs, and work to find solutions quickly and professionally."

Felix said teamwork and dependability are central to how she supports the school.

"I am always willing to help wherever I am needed, whether that means assisting with office responsibilities, helping teachers and administrators, or learning a new task to better support our team. I believe maintaining a positive attitude, being dependable, and treating others with respect helps create a work environment where everyone can succeed."

Felix said her goal each day goes beyond simply meeting expectations.

"I lead by example through my work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude. I take pride in being dependable, maintaining professionalism, and helping create a welcoming environment where students, families, and staff feel comfortable seeking assistance. My goal each day is not simply to meet expectations, but to exceed them by serving others with compassion, integrity, and a genuine desire to make a difference."

Felix stays involved throughout the school year, assisting with registration, graduation preparations, and other school events and programs. She said building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues is one of the most meaningful parts of her work.

"For the past six years, Dalton High School has been more than just my workplace it has been my second family. The support I have received has inspired me to give back through kindness, compassion, and service every day."
