šŸ¦šŸ¤Congratulations to Mrs. Fraire’s and Mrs. Paredes’ classes! They were both selected for showing exceptional kindness in the lunchroom. These students demonstrated helpfulness in the cafeteria by using their manners, cleaning up after themselves, and showing kindness to their classmates and others. Keep up the great work, Lions!

šŸ¦šŸ“Our 4th Grade Wetland Investigators loved having Mr. Huch, an Engineer, visit and share about his career and how his work relates to the work they are doing with the Courtyard pond! They had previously discovered a seasonal problem that was affecting the quality of the pond water. During fall, leaves and other debris have been falling into the pond from the nearby trees and clogging up the filters. Together, our Wetland Investigators and Mr. Huch measured and created a scaled drawing that will allow our Wetland Investigators to take the next step into bringing their pond screen design to life. #BrookwoodSTEM

šŸ¦šŸš—Parking: At tonight's One World Festival, our School Resource Officer will be blocking off both sides of Willow Park Lane to ensure our Lions will have a safe Lantern Parade route. Although the edges of Willow Park Lane are commonly used for parking, we are kindly asking you not to park there tonight for this event. We sincerely appreciate your help with this effort to keep our Lions safe!

Please note: These roads may already be partially closed which could affect today's dismissal parking as well.

🦁🌱Our 4th Grade Wetland Investigators welcomed Ecologist, Iris Avila last week! She taught our Lions about the different types of soil and how the quality of soil affects an ecosystem. She also shared that soil quality is an indicator to the health of an ecosystem. Together, they journeyed to Lakeshore and collected soil samples from different locations around the park. Based on their observations, they classified the collected samples and concluded the quality of soil at each location indicated the Wetland ecosystem at Lakeshore Park was in good health. We are grateful for her guidance and expertise to help our Wetland Investigators understand more about the world around them! #BrookwoodSTEM

šŸ¦šŸ“–šŸMrs. Nelson's Kindergarten class reviewed informational text by acting out sequence text structure. In their lesson, they learned how bees make honey! They became bees and took turns sipping nectar from flowers and taking it back to the worker bees at the hives made of hexagons. There, they saw that their nectar was turned into honey for the bees to eat during winter!
